Jim Nelson has been writing songs since 1978. His musical influences are a montage of all pop and rock bands and performers from the time he started listening to KJR Seattle [Channel 95] on his transistor radio in Port Townsend in the mid-1960s until he disappeared into the Alaska bush as a bush teacher in the early 1980s. Jim considers himself to be a "primitive songwriter" in that what he does come mainly from himself with little regard to formal instruction on musical theory or what is currently trending online.
